Due to mostly avoidable circumstances which, being me, I managed to not avoid, this LJ went friends-only quite some time ago.

Please comment if you'd like to be friended, but given I barely keep up with my friendslist at the moment, please don't be offended if I don't friend you back. I like friends very much, but I like to give them the time they deserve.

If you've come here just for my fic, it's all unlocked and all most some of it can also be found at my sites:

theoretically possible, for Stargate SG-1, and
at the end of the world, for Battlestar Galactica, which I share with [info]bantha_fodder.

These are very kindly hosted by the lovely [info]splash_the_cat.

Title: Magnitudes of Zero: A remix of High Ground, by [info]fahye
Author: Claira
Rating: PG
Summary: Cutting off her hair turns out to be the easy part. PILOTS. This no longer fits easily into canon, but ... that's what remixes are for?
Spoilers: Up to Season 3
A/N:: This was written for pxremix and oh my god, this is so late. Like, eight months late, and I feel pretty terrible about that. Basically, I picked at something else (a different fandom, I should just give up at attempting anything that isn't BSG, I fail) and it had stalled. Numerous times.

Then [info]sainfoin_fields remixed my Burning Driftwood with her completely amazing Of Punishing Light. This made me feel really guilty and so I stalked Fahye's ficlist and picked High Ground and then wrote the bulk of this in about three hours.

It's hard remixing something written by someone as talented and brilliant as [info]fahye and I'm quite nervous about how she'll find this, especially given she's currently sitting at my kitchen table and she won't be able to fake her reaction. OH WELL.

With huge thanks to [info]peri_peteia, who jumped in to help out when I needed someone to give me advice and tell me it was okay, and also nitpick my use of semi-colons. All errors left are not her fault.

A long long time ago in a galaxy far away I wrote a silly little fic called Stupid Thing Last Night. Much later (but still a long long time ago), I wrote another one: Stupid Thing Last Night: The Videotape edition.

Not so long ago, a fantastic writer by the name of [info]elzed contacted me with the idea of sequel-ing the ... sequel? And lo, our powers combined across timezone inconveniences and conflicting timetables, and we wrote a fic which is probably eight times as long as the first two combined.

So here it is.

Stupid Thing Last Night: The Rewind.
Authors: [info]stars_like_dust and [info]elzed
Fandom: Battlestar Galactica
Characters/Pairings: Lee/Kara
Rating: NC-17 (no, really)
Spoilers: Season 1; up to early season 2 (Home)
Wordcount: This part: approx 8,300 (total 16,700)
Disclaimer: RDM said we could!

Betaed by the lovely [info]overnighter.

You may need to reread the other two first, as this picks about mid-Videotape edition. :)

SO, BSG.

My reaction to this episode was to write 1000+ words of pilot fic in half an hour flat. This 1000 words may be NC17 related, and there may be walls involved, but that's really all I can say, because there are spoilers. [info]peri_peteia had thrown her eye over this briefly, so hopefully it is okay. Er, it's not like there's any PLOT or anything MEANINGFUL in here, so.

Untitled. )

That pretty much sums up my thoughts for the episode.

Although I hate timezone differences, because I'm flailing helplessly and practically everyone's gone to bed!

Title: Artemis Rising
Author: Claira
Spoilers: None
Rating: R
Summary: The Word document for this was titled "Academy pilots go on a beach holiday and there is outmaking" for about a year. That should give you a hint. Kara/Lee.
Word count: 11, 200+ (!!!)
A/N: I was cleaning out my WIP folder, and stumbled across this - I'd written it at someone's challenge, and there were about six or seven pages, which was about five more than I thought I'd done. I reread it and liked it and then it took over two days of my life, and now it's 24 pages long. I am aware that it's shamelessly self-indulgent, but how long has it been since, well, anyone on BSG was happy onscreen? Way too long.

With huge thanks to [info]elzed who did a wonderful job at encouraging and betaing, and [info]bantha_fodder for her (as usual) invaluable crit.

So, anyway, I was planning lessons this evening and was using a set of commonly misspelled words for the grammar and spelling part, and came across one I don't think I've ever said out loud and certainly didn't know how to spell.

I mentioned this to Fahye, and she was like: "Write a ficlet!"

And I was like "... on what? Are you serious?"

... and then I did.

So this is Booth/Brennan, third season, no spoilers, 570 something words. I have not posted anything fic like for a year. (Which means: please be nice. I'm sorely out of practice.)

Title by Fahye, because I said it needed something dorky, and she complied. Blame her. Blame everything on her.

Title: Those Journeymen Divine
Authors: [info]stars_like_dust and [info]fahye
Rating: R
Summary: “Leave it to me,” she says, grinning. “I have a plan.”
Word count: 14,330
A/N: I am currently at Fahye's house. We haven't had a whole lot of sleep in the last 24 hours.

This is set between 'Unfinished Business' and 'Eye of Jupiter' and is, as will become abundantly clear, very AU.

The title is from the poem The Sleepers by Walt Whitman.

Title: Stupid Thing Last Night: The Video Tape Edition
Author: Claira
Rating: PG-13
Summary: It's right down the bottom, under a stack of magazines Hover and Hotdog start fighting over, and the tape makes a sharp click as it hits the metal floor. PILOTS, 3655 words.
Spoilers: None.
Disclaimer: Ron Moore said I could.
A/N: This is a sequel to Stupid Thing Last Night, and so this will make a lot more sense if you read it first. This is also sort of a very vague remix of Fahye's Benevolent Sibling, but she loves me so that's okay. Thanks to Fahye and Miss Pen for betaing duties.

This is dedicated to [info]bantha_fodder, because I love her muchly.

So, I didn't think I'd written much last year, but then I was inspired to do a round up and found out that wasn't exactly correct. Not an amazingly prolific year compared to 2005, but I was a student then, so that's probably a good thing. I've had such a huge year I'd forgotten about half of these, so it was sort of nice to discover them again.

I've split this post into the only two fandoms (if you can call one a fandom) I wrote for, bar Narnia, but I can't be bothered linking to that because anyone on my LJ who reads Narnia has read it already. *g*

Look away now if RPF bothers you. No, really.

Katie )

In conclusion, being a teacher takes up too much writing time. The flip side is that I was just paid yesterday for being on holidays, which is the most awesome thing ever, and possibly better than having a longer fic list than this. I tag everyone who hasn't done this already to do one of these, because I just spent a delicious hour reading [info]fahye's, and I look forward to repeating that process with the many talented authors on my flist. Go!

P.S. Let me know if a link doesn't work, and I'll fix it. :)
